Car accident deaths are very common and on average cause 2% of yearly deaths. This rate fluctuates; however, it is on the rise due to the amount of people now driving cars, particularly young adults. In the USA, where the majority of people drive cars, car accident deaths make up approximately 45% of deaths. Car accident deaths are most common within the age bracket of 15 to 24 year olds, closely followed by 5 to 14 year olds. Car accident deaths are least common in people over the age of 80, due to the fact that many of these people do not drive, along with other health issues they may have.
