Your automotive air filter plays a large part in how your engine runs. From lowering fuel mileage to decreasing horsepower and torque output, a clogged air filter has a large effect on how well your engine runs. The average car owner isn’t going to be able to tell just by listening if their engine’s air filter is clogged. However, someone that works on cars often, such as an automotive technician, should be able to hear the difference between a fresh and clean air filter and a dirty clogged air filter. To someone with an experienced ear, a clogged air filter sounds much different than a clean air filter.
