When it comes to tire care, the pros don’t mess around. Tire maintenance is very important for your car. Bad tires can cause problems like blowouts, loss of control, flats and tire failure. These normally happen while you are driving, so it would be a smart idea to take care of your tires. Here are some tire care secrets from the pros.

    1. Tire Dressing

Tire dressing is one of several tire care products that will make them look great. Tire dressing formulas are either solvent or water based, although most are now water based. These formulas have special UV filters in them to make sure your tires do not wear out due to the sun. Tire dressing will make your tires shiny, glossy and have a wet look. These products can be found in most auto stores.

    2. Rubber Cleaner

Your tires get dirtier than your car does since they’re in direct contact with the road. This special spray will essentially wash the grime and debris out of your tires. You simply spray it on your tires, and then you can rub it in with a pad, or use an electric brush. Don’t let it dry, and then rinse your tires.

    3. Rubber Prep

This will remove pollutants, if you will, out of your tires. Your tires can get things into them, such as grease, wax or oil, under the surface. This rubber prep will pull it to the surface for removal. You will see this on your tire as a brown color. You should do this every few months to ensure proper care.
