What’s the Ranking of Gas Mileage by Car Types From Best to Worst?
Gas mileage by car type works out pretty much the way you would expect it to. The larger the vehicle, the lower the gas mileage. The rankings are as follows: Two-seater subcompacts like the Smart Car are at the top of the list. This is followed by compact cars, midsize cars, and large cars. Small station wagons like the Subaru Impreza are next, followed by large station wagons and small pickup trucks. The list is rounded out by standard pickup trucks, vans and SUVs. If hybrids are considered a separate category than they would be on the top of the list.
