The Volkswagen reliability rating is different for each of the vehicles that Volkswagen produces. Additionally, ratings will also vary depending on the model year. For instance, VW’s very popular Beetle scored poorly for engine reliability in all years from 1998 to 2005. However, all other components of the vehicle scored excellent in each category and for each year. Overall, the Passat and the Beetle scored the lowest in reliability, as scored by experts, with a rating of 7.4 and 7.0 respectively. The VW CC scored a 9.3, which is the highest rating of all of the models. However, the GTI, Jetta, and Rabbit scored best with consumers at 10, 9.6, and 9.8, respectively.
