The Toyota Prius maintenance schedule is lengthy and detailed. It is found in the Prius owner’s manual or it can be downloaded from the Toyota website. However, there are some common maintenance items that are of importance to the smooth running of the vehicle. The oil and filter should be changed, the brakes should be inspected for wear, and the tires should be rotated at 5,000-mile intervals or every 6 months. At 10,000 miles or every 12 months, the cabin air-filter should be changed, all steering linkages and ball joints should be checked, and all body and chassis nuts should be tightened.
