The VW factory warranty is a type of bumper-to-bumper warranty that is furnished to the original owner of a Volkswagen vehicle for 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. It covers all problems with the vehicle, including minor corrosion due to manufacturing defect. It also includes a roadside assistance program and free towing to the nearest Volkswagen dealership. Additionally, wear and tear adjustments are made for the first 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Normal and scheduled maintenance items are not covered, and vehicle fluids will only be replaced free of charge if they are associated with a breakdown.
