• The Luxury Sedan Comparison Guide: A Closer Look at Pricing, Specs and MPG

By doing a luxury sedan comparison you will be in a much better position to know which make and model of car is right for you. Before paying out your hard earned money for a car that you might not like, take the time to do some research on several of the different top luxury sedans on the market today. This research will require some time on your part, but is going to be well worth it when you are driving in a car that you are happy with. Here is a quick comparison of the top luxury sedans and how they stack up according to pricing, specifications, and MPG.

    Mercedes Benz E Class

When it comes to some of the best luxury cars on the market today, the Mercedes E Class is at the top of the list. This model usually runs in the high $50,000 range and has amazing luxury, opulence, a sporty look and an incredible list of safety features. This E-Class sedan is available with a V6 or a V8 engine depending on the actual model. These engines are very reliable with very low maintenance needed other than normal, periodic upkeep. Powering these engines does take some fuel, but engineers have still managed to get a very respectable 26 MPG on the highway.

    Acura RL

Among many of the luxury sedan reviews you will find a lot of the more well known names, but the Acura RL stands out in customer satisfaction, power and value. Starting at $43,000, this car delivers a lot of what you would find in more expensive, high-end luxury vehicles. The V6 engine delivers V8 power, but this does come at a cost. The estimated MPG is only 22 miles per gallon on the highway, which is a little less than most of the other sedans in its class. However, the SH-AWD drivetrain makes up for it with a much smoother drive and better handling.

    Lexus GS Hybrid

Another great luxury sedan that continually receives great reviews from customers and critics is the Lexus GS. Like the Acura RL, the Lexus delivers V8 power with a smaller V6 power plant. This higher power output does not mean that the gas mileage will suffer. With a 30 MPG on the highway rating, the Lexus GS Hybrid is one of the industry leaders. Being offered at a $54,000 price tage, this luxury sedan is at the high end for mid-size sedans. However, the luxury is on par with many of the high end models, but the car does lack somewhat in the handling department.

    Audi A6

A larger luxury sedan that is worth looking at is the Audi A6. Starting out at $43,000, this sedan has both power, good gas mileage and a beautiful interior. One of the biggest selling points of the A6 is the Quattro All-Wheel Drive System. This system is the hallmark that makes driving this model a dream. There are 3.0, 3.2 and 4.0-liter options for the engine and some variants are even available with a turbo. MPG is at the high end with close to 30 MPG on the highway and 22 with city driving.
