The turbo Acura NSX nets approximately 507HP at 16psi. The original VTEC (variable valve timing), 3.0-liter NSX engine produced 270hp at 8,000 rpms. Adding a turbo to the Acura NSX engine is considered difficult because of the amidships engine configuration. Because of the engine configuration, the oil lines for the turbo end up below the oil pan, which makes oil flow regulation difficult. Additionally, the cooler is forced to be mounted into the trunk, which is a difficult task in itself. Turbo kits are not sold to the public, and a professional installer would need to be hired to make the conversion.
