The Acura NSX 0-60 miles per hour (MPH) times were impressive. The original extruded aluminum 3.0 liter engine, using aspiration, went from 0 MPH to 60 MPH in 5.2 seconds. This figure dropped to 4.5 seconds when the 3.2 liter DOHC (double overhead cam) was introduced. This was a lighter engine that produced an additional 20hp of power due to the use of a thinner fiber reinforced metal (FRM) cylinder sleeve. Along with the engine modifications, Honda streamlined the vehicle by reducing its weight. Changes were made to the suspension and the body that were responsible for the weight changes.
