Getting a new title for a car you rebuilt that had no title previously can be a difficult process. However, one that can be navigated through with a little research and patience. The first step is to check with your local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to find out what the process is to obtain a replacement car title. Each state may have different laws for rebuilt/restored title cars. Though generally speaking, they will require the car’s VIN (vehicle identification number), your drivers license information, any certification required from you (like bill of sale), and/or a mechanic’s report stating operational standards of the rebuilt auto.
