  • Does a Car Lose Value if it Hasn’t Passed Smog Inspections Yet?

The value of a used car that has not passed smog inspections can be hard to determine, unless you know the reason why the car has not passed inspection, or if an attempt to pass has been made at all. There could be a serious mechanical problem under the hood that can be costly to repair, and the way to be sure value is not affected is to have a mechanic inspect the vehicle before purchasing. If the car has failed smog inspection before, reviewing the test scores can help determine if the problem adversely affects the car’s value.
