  • Do Dealerships Provide a Free Carfax Account when Buying a Car?

There is no free CARFAX account available to you if you are interested in a pre-owned vehicle. The dealership may hand you a brand new CARFAX report on the vehicle in which you are interested. This is especially true if they are part of a certified, pre-owned vehicle program where each vehicle must be provided with a CARFAX report. However, given the price of an individual account for a dealership, it is highly unlikely you’ll be getting your own account. Unless you are the manager of a dealership, you’ll just have to wait for the dealer to hand you the report on the car you’re thinking of buying.
