    Junkyards typically buy salvage title vehicles. Salvage car titles are titles given to cars that have damage that is worth 75 percent, or more of the car’s actual value and repair shops. Junkyards are the most common type of car shops that purchase vehicles with salvage titles these days. Some junkyards will even purchase vehicles with salvage titles given to the vehicle because it was previously stolen. There are 11 states that issue salvage titles for vehicles that have been stolen. This includes Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, and Oregon.
