  • Can You Get a Replacement Car Title for a Salvage Car?

Getting a replacement car title for a salvage vehicle is much like getting one for a regular car. You will need to contact your local Department of Revenue, or DOT whichever one handles titles and registrations. The process will vary by state, as vehicle titles are issued by the state you live in. You will need to fill out a few forms and pay a fee. In some states, you will be required to submit the vehicle for an inspection. Salvage title vehicles must be deemed safe to drive on the street, which is why they must be inspected before a title is issued.
