  • Can an Insurance Agent Look Up Car History Records?

Car history records are available to anyone, including an insurance agent, who can supply the VIN number. To access the vehicle history all you need to do is sign into the website, enter the VIN number that you want to query, and pay your fee. The full known vehicle history (does not include work done by “backyard mechanics”) will then be available to you or anyone else including insurance agents. There are several of these sites that specialize in this type of work and they operate in several different states. It is a good idea to use one of them if you intend to buy a car. This way you will know you aren’t buying a lemon.
