GMAC loan rates seem to be lowest in the Eastern part of the country and are running at just below 6 percent for people with credit scores in the 700s, according to various reports circulating on the Internet. There are also a number of specialized GMAC (General Motors Acceptance Corp., the financial arm of General Motors) programs going on where buyers are offered a choice of 0 percent interest for 60 months or a rebate. Rebate levels will vary from week to week and model to model, and there are some dealers who are withholding “spiffs” that salespeople are supposed to get for selling vehicles and applying the money to some models.
