If a driver is caught driving under a suspended license, then the driver could have their license suspended permanently. They could receive a fine or they could be sentenced to time in prison. In some cases, the driver could suffer all three punishments. The severity of the punishment depends on the state that the driver resides in. Some states have stricter punishments for driving under a suspended license than others. Other factors taken into consideration are: whether the driver has been in trouble before, and whether the driver committed another felony at the time. Such as driving under the influence, driving irresponsibly/dangerously, or have caused harm to another road user or pedestrian.
