An ECU upgrade is generally not required for a diesel engine, but an upgrade may be necessary if the intake creates a dramatic difference from your previous settings. All vehicles are different so it’s always good to check with the manufacturer of the intake system you purchase and let them know your make, model and year. Some vehicles are more sensitive to change than others. You can compare your new intake system to the old intake system and manifold.
