Maybe you’re looking for more horsepower and speed, or just looking to replace a blown motor, and you’re considering an engine swap. Your biggest question is whether or not it’s legal to swap motors on vehicles. In many states, the answer to this is yes. Some states say yes, but as long as the engine was available for that car or truck model for that year. Some say that as long as the engine was available the year at all, it’s OK. To find out what the laws are in your state, you need to ask your motor vehicles department. A non-official governemtn link with generalized information and links to some state sites can be found here.
