Auto salvage companies used to be called junkyards. However, this is changing because many of them are buying cars that can be sold complete to consumers. There was a time when a junkyard would never consider selling a whole car. They were in the business of selling salvaged parts. There also used to be a time when you had to walk in to an office and ask for specific parts for specific cars. However, more and more, you’re seeing do it yourself salvage yards, or pick and pull yards, where you bring your own tools and pay a fee to gain access to the yard and go remove the parts you need yourself.
