  • Do Street Racing Tires Increase or Decrease Your MPG?

Street racing tires have different rubber compounds and tread designs than standard passenger car street tires. High performance tires are designed to increase high speed stability and cornering capability. Street racing tires generally only affect the fuel mileage you’ll receive, because most people will tend to drive their car harder if they have high performance tires installed. As long as you don’t drive like you’re in a race, keep the car properly aligned and the tires properly inflated, you shouldn’t see any difference in mileage between high performance and regular street tires.
