What are the Most Common Jaguar Transmission Problems?
Jaguar transmission problems are a hot topic among many owners of older Jaguar models. Some of the most common complaints are with the shifter sticking. The transmission will only shift into first gear automatically. However, the other gears can only be obtained by shifting manually. Among other common problems expressed by owners are that the driver has to wait a few seconds after shifting before the transmission will engage into reverse, and transmission slippage. Some technicians feel that the culprit could be the shift solenoid, and that some seemingly transmission problems can be traced back to a faulty brake switch.
