Removing a Honda Civic gear knob is not a difficult task. The first step in the procedure is to turn the engine off. Next, place the transmission in the neutral position and then engage the car’s parking brake. The Honda Civic gear shift has a leather cover which must be removed. After removing this, you will notice that there is a collar type attachment just below the actual knob which must be loosened. Then simply twist the old knob off. The next step is to install the replacement by twisting the new knob into place and replacing the leather gear shift cover. You can then shift the car back into park.
