2012 Chrysler Town & Country
“The previous Town & Country was a creaky beast - you could hear the body flexing when traveling on uneven pavement. It didn't say "quality" when you heard it, even if that feeling came more from perception than from reality. Perceptions matter, though, and that creakiness is gone now. ” — Cars.com   See More Reviews

2012 Dodge Grand Caravan
“The second-row bucket seats are stationary, but the back folds forward and the seat tips up to allow access to the third row, all with the pull of a lever. Open the bins and you can then push the seats into them. This system, now called Super Stow 'n Go, works superbly well. For a fairly simple invention, it's a masterpiece. ” — New Car Test Drive   See More Reviews

2012 Ford Transit Connect
“It is a good option for people who need to use their vehicle to haul people and yet still need the versatility and cargo capacity of a van, and it can also be ordered with a taxi package.” — Automobile   See More Reviews

2012 Kia Sedona
“On the upside, even at entry level, nifty touches like power windows in the front and side doors-a feature shared only with the Odyssey-and opening rear-quarter windows (power-activated in an EX) plus standard trizone air-conditioning, power locks/mirrors, and cruise control elevate the Sedona well above the econo category.” — Motor Trend   See More Reviews

2012 Toyota Sienna
“From its leg-rest-equipped reclining second-row seats to the split-screen entertainment system that allows the kids to watch two separate programs simultaneously, the Sienna never fails to delight. It's also the only minivan to offer the option of all-wheel drive. ” — Kelley Blue Book   See More Reviews

2012 Volkswagen Routan
“Although tardy to the minivan scene, the new Routan does give Volkswagen a vehicle with first-rate mechanical credentials, distinctive visual character and the kind of comfort and convenience elements that should help boost its overall appeal to anyone who is considering a minivan purchase.” — Kelley Blue Book   See More Reviews

How are models ranked?

Autos.com editors have compiled the most extensive rating database on the internet, drawing upon $20 million of automotive research from CarsDirect and Autodata, and summarizing expert opinion from an extensive group of the leading third party sources. Here is a brief overview of how we do it:

Professional Reviews Ranking: Autos.com editors analyze car reviews from a range of magazines and websites, distill each down to a quantifiable ranking and then average those rankings to arrive at the Professional Review Rank.

Other Rankings: Autos.com also ranks vehicles based on criteria such as fuel efficiency, cargo capacity, and comfort and convenience features. You can see some of the data that we have used to rate each vehicle in any given category by expanding the category header on the vehicle detail page. For example, click on the arrow next to "Passenger Space" on the Honda Civic detail page to see the actual measurements for that vehicle's interior. These measurements were stacked up against the interior measurements of all the other vehicles in the compact car segment in order to calculate the Honda Civic's rating in the Passenger Space category. That rating is then used to determine the Honda Civic's overall ranking in the compact car category.
